Dennis White moved to Monroe County when he was four years old. His family made their home at Second Creek. He graduated from Union High School in the Class of 1960. He married Linda Cruise, a graduate of Union High School in 1962.

Dennis worked for the government for 32 years as an Engineering Technician with the DOT. He has found time to play an active role in the Craft and Music movement in West Virginia and he is the VP of a group called “Friends of the Second Creek, Inc.”

In 2007, Dennis wrote the book “News From the Crik” zip 24974 and has also written another book “News From the Crik” zip 24974 part II. His books are made up of fictional people in a very real place. The stories are written about the lifestyle in the Hogshead Settlement of Second Creek. It also features recipes to give you a taste of the “Crik” in earlier times. “News from the Crik” zip 24974 is presently out of print but a new printing may be coming soon.
