The Class of 1956 celebrates their 60^th Class Reunion

The class of 1956 met on August 13, 2016 to celebrate their 60^th class reunion at the home of classmate Mary Ann Campbell Hinkle who resides in Union.  Jack Flouer presided over the reunion and presented a gift to the person who traveled the farthest, which went to  Gene Baker (Florida), the person with the most g-grandchildren went to  Margery Deskins Pence with 16 g-grandchildren, and the person who lived the closest went to Mary Ann Campbell Hinkle (Union).

They had fourteen classmates attending:  Gene Baker and wife Nancy (Florida), Margery Deskins Pence (Sinks Grove),  Faye Sparks Guilfoile  and husband Joe (Charleston), Josephine Elmore Mullins (Stuarts Draft, Va), Jack Flouer and wife Peggy (Manhattan, Kansas),  Mary Ann Campbell Hinkle (Union), Louie Weikle and wife Shirley (Princeton) , Janet (Alice) Newsome Jackson (Union),  Dorothy Bostic Coleman (White Sulphur Springs) , Delores Bostic Carter (White Sulphur Springs) , Shirley Crosier Neel (Union),  Ward Miller and wife Carol (Goldsboro, NC), Hazel Kennedy Johnson and husband Tim (Grand Rapids, Michigan),  Richard Jenkins and wife Sharon (Ohio) and also a guest, Jim McGuire (Richmond, Kentucky). They were honored to have one other guest who they had not seen since seventh grade, Irma Izon Wright (Bedford, Va).

Remembering fourteen members of the class who are deceased:  Rosemary Carter, Velma Bostic, Elizabeth Dowdy, Paul Kyer, Betty McDaniel, James Miller, Charles Pomphrey, Dewey Pritt, Kenneth Reed, Audrey Trent, Donald Dunbar, Homer Harvey, Phyllis Dixon and Iris Parker.

The reunion group decided to have another class reunion in three years.
