Moon shining over Class of 1963 Reunion

A gigantic moon hung over a warm summer evening making it just perfect for the UHS Class of 1963′s 50th reunion at Food and Friends in Lewisburg.  What a wonderful time we had with thirty four in attendance!  The group entertained with memories from school days, family details, and “What have you been doing for the last 50 years?”

Bob Canterbury presented a touching memorial for those who we have lost:  Roger Vance, James Dunbar, Ralph Hinkle, Nancy Leach Williams, Mary Hendricks Morgan, Lloyd Beckett, and Larry Allen.

Seventeen of the remaining members attended along with several friends and family who shared part of our school years.  In attendance were Sarah Pritt Brubaker and Bill, Bob Canterbury and Carolyn, Darlene Echols Cathcart and Sam, Jean King Clarkson, John Elmore and Jo Ann, Joan Flouer Flynn, Shirley Thomas Hazelwood and Gary, Sharon South Hedrick and Roger, Les Honaker, Harvey Neel, Geraldine Pence Parsons and four daughters, Lori Butts, Bonnie Shirley, Nikki Sykes, and Ginger Howard, Phyllis Wiseman Perdue and Larry, John Rowe, Don Short and Betty, Virginia Graham Shields, Sharon Ratliff Shortridge, Ronald Smith, Malinda Christie Stevens and Dewey, James Thomas and Frances, Linda Anderson Weiss.

Members came from has far as Houston and Indianapolis.  All received a WV gift bag, UHS mugs, and a “63 Hits” CD.  WV items and flowers were distributed by drawing.

Again, we were so excited to see each other that we neglected to get a group picture.  Instead we have a collage of all.  Thanks to everyone for a memory to cherish.
